To try to get some visitors here to the Recipe Box, I decided to take part in The Bloggy Giveaways’ Quarterly Carnival.  This is going to be simple, but I’d like to make it a little fun to.

1. Tammy’s mulberry cherry pie
If you have access to a mulberry tree – even if you think you don’t like mulberries – this recipe is a must try! I’m not a huge fan of the raw mulberry, but I realized that I love it as jam and, obviously, in this pie.  You don’t even have to waste time picking off stems because they soften and you won’t even notice them.  I, and everyone else, loved this pie so much that I plan to pick even more mulberries next year and freeze them so I can make it anytime.

2. Pumpkin Carrot Swirl “Bars”
These come out unbelievably moist and very addictive. You’ll find it pretty hard eatingjust one piece.  FYI – I prefer to make these in an 11×14 baking dish and serve like cake.

3. Pumpkin Crunch Cake
Despite the fact that I thought this was supposed to come out like cake and overcooked it, it’s really good! I decided that since I know it’s like pumpkin pie, I’ll give it another try. It’s a nice alternative to traditional pumpkin pie.
 
 4. Baked Ziti
When I made this baked ziti, I used a can of Hunt’s Zesty and Spicy sauce and a jar of Three Cheese, and I chopped up some prepared italian meatballs to mix in with the sauce.  I’m usually not impressed with baked pasta dishes (not my own anyway – haha) but this one has s much flavor!

5. Potato Soup
This is just a simple recipe for potato soup given to me by my mother-in-law.  It’s good every time and easy to add to.

6. Amish Macaroni Salad
I made this for two family dinners and my father-in-law raved about it. It was my first time making macaroni salad, but I’d say this recipe is a keeper!

7. Peach Jam
Even though this recipe took a little work, it was so worth it! It actually came out with almost the texture of peach butter, which I loved.

8. Cake Balls
There are so many was you can make these, but I made them with chocolate fudge cake, caramel frosting, dipped in chocolate and topped with pecans. The came out tasting like brownies.

9. Apple Cider Floats
This is a great treat even on chilly days.

10. French Bread
Just a simple french bread recipe, but makes great garlic bread and french toast.

Peppermint Hard Candy Twists
I’m not sure if everyone loved the flavor or the fact that they were twisted more – haha! Be prepared to explain how you got the twisted

I’m working on fixing up this WP ”Classic” theme a little bit because the old theme files were “infected” and I don’t want to reupload any of that.  For now, this is how everything will look.  I think I’m going to disable comments on recipe posts because all I get is spam comments anyway.  I installed an anti-spam plugin, so comments are not disabled at this point.  And.. I’ll be adding a couple new recipes shortly.  (You’re excited aren’t you?!)
